Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 September 2026 · Effective: 28 September 2026
LovePort is a private space for two people. This policy explains, in plain language, what information LovePort collects, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have wherever you live.
The short version
We built LovePort to hold something intimate, so we treat your information that way. Your private check-ins and journal live on your device. Certain things you choose to share with your partner (such as shared journal notes and Safe Harbor messages) are end-to-end encrypted, which means not even we can read them. Two optional AI features can send your words to our AI provider (Microsoft): Deeper help (AI help finding the words) in the repair reflection, which you choose yourself before you write, and deeper coaching for Harbor members. Neither is ever used to train AI. We do not sell your personal information, we do not run advertising trackers, and you can delete your account and its data from inside the app at any time.
This summary is for convenience only. The full policy below is what governs.
1. Who we are
LovePort (the “Service”, the “app”) is provided by TechRange Solutions Private Limited, a company incorporated in India (“TechRange”, “we”, “us”, “our”). For the purposes of data-protection laws such as the EU/UK GDPR, we are the data controller of the personal information described here. For India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”), we are the Data Fiduciary.
You can reach us about privacy at mail@techrange.co.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run LovePort for you and your partner.
Information you give us
- Account information. You sign in with Sign in with Apple. Depending on your Apple settings, we receive an Apple user identifier and an email address (which may be Apple’s private relay address), and, on first sign-in only, the name you choose to share.
- Profile. A display name and, if you add one, a profile photo. Your device also publishes a public encryption key so your partner’s device can encrypt shared notes to you.
- Your voyage. Relationship details you enter, such as a voyage name, an optional anniversary, your chosen check-in time, and invite codes used to connect with your partner.
- What you create. Check-ins, signals (such as raising a flag or sending a wave), moments and photos you add to your map, journal entries, Safe Harbor messages, and answers to the daily shared question. Your private journal stays on your device. Safe Harbor messages, daily-question answers, and shared journal notes are end-to-end encrypted (see section 3).
Information we collect automatically
- Device & technical data. Limited technical information needed to operate and secure the Service, such as app version, device type and operating-system version, coarse language/region settings, and server log data (including IP address) generated when your app talks to our backend.
- Notification tokens. If you enable notifications, a push token from Apple so we can deliver reminders and gentle signals from your partner.
- Diagnostics. Basic, aggregated diagnostic and reliability information to keep the app stable. We do not use third-party advertising networks or cross-app tracking.
Subscriptions
If you buy a Harbor membership, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive your subscription status (for example, active or expired) so we can unlock features. We never receive your full payment-card details, which are handled by Apple.
3. Encryption & on-device data
Privacy is a design choice in LovePort, not an add-on:
- On your device. Your private journal and your private encryption keys are stored on your device and are not uploaded to us in readable form.
- End-to-end encrypted. The full words you choose to share from your journal, your Safe Harbor messages, and your daily-question answers are encrypted on your device with keys only you and your partner hold. We transmit and store them in encrypted form and cannot read them. The exceptions are the two AI features below: for Harbor members, deeper coaching is on by default and sends a bounded window of your Talk messages, decrypted on your device; and if you choose Deeper help (AI help finding the words), what you write in the repair reflection is sent to our AI provider.
- Stored on our servers. Some information necessary to sync your shared voyage, such as your profile, your check-in and signal states, map moments, photos you add, and a short shared “vibe” summary line if you choose to share one, is stored on our backend. It is protected in transit and encrypted at rest, and access is restricted so that, in general, only you and your partner can see your voyage’s data. This content is not end-to-end encrypted, which means it is technically accessible to us where strictly necessary to operate, secure, back up, or lawfully act on the Service.
Because some content is end-to-end encrypted with keys we do not hold, if those keys are lost (for example, if you delete the app from all your devices) we may be unable to recover that content for you.
Deeper coaching (premium AI)
LovePort’s everyday coaching runs entirely on your device. Separately, couples with a Harbor membership get deeper coaching, a premium feature that uses a cloud AI provider for richer guidance. For Harbor members it is on by default. Because it is the one feature where your private words leave your device, it is tightly limited:
- Premium, and members only. Deeper coaching exists only for couples with a Harbor membership. Without a membership it is off and no words ever leave your devices for it. For members it is on by default, and either partner can turn it off at any time in the app.
- It covers both of you together. When it is on, a bounded window of both partners’ messages may be sent. Turning it off turns it off for both of you, and while it is off for either of you, neither partner’s words are sent.
- What is sent. A bounded, recent window of your Safe Harbor (“Talk”) messages plus non-identifying relationship signals. Your private, on-device journal is never sent.
- Who processes it. Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. Under Microsoft’s terms, your content is not used to train or improve any AI model and is not shared with OpenAI or other customers; Microsoft may temporarily retain it for up to 30 days to detect abuse, after which it is deleted. We store none of it ourselves.
- Not professional advice. The coach offers general, supportive suggestions, not diagnosis or therapy; if it detects signs of crisis it stops and points you to support resources.
Deeper help: AI help finding the words (repair reflection)
When something is on your mind, LovePort can help you understand what you feel and put it into words before you say anything to your partner. You choose how that works on the first screen, before you write anything, and you can change it any time in Settings:
- Your choice, asked before anything is sent. If you choose Deeper help, what you write in “Something on your mind?” or “Work through it together” (and your answers to its questions) is sent securely to our AI provider so it can reflect it back and help shape a message. If you choose Just this phone (or choose nothing), nothing is sent and you get a simpler guided reflection on your device. This is available on the free plan and with Harbor.
- Never shown to your partner. Your partner sees only a message you decide to send.
- Safety stays on your phone. If what you write suggests a crisis or that you may be being controlled, the app stops, shows support resources, and sends nothing.
- Who processes it. Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, on the same terms as above: not used to train or improve any AI model, not shared with OpenAI or other customers, and possibly retained by Microsoft for up to 30 days to detect abuse, after which it is deleted. We do not store what you write; we keep only a count of how many times you used Deeper help, to apply the free plan’s monthly limit.
Repair helpers (a way to say it back, a small thing to try)
When your partner shares something in a repair, the app can suggest a way to say it back, a different angle if it's hard to land, and one small thing to try. These are written by our AI provider (Microsoft Azure OpenAI, on the terms above).
- On the free plan they are written only from the labels already shown to both of you (the feeling, what would help, and any themes), never from anyone's words, within a monthly limit shared with Deeper help.
- With Harbor, and only while both of you leave deeper coaching on, they may also use the words shared in that repair, so the suggestion fits what was actually said.
- We do not store what is sent; we keep only a count of how many times they were used, to apply the free plan’s monthly limit.
4. How we use information
- Provide the Service — create your account, connect you and your partner, sync your shared voyage, and deliver the features you use.
- Communicate — send the reminders, signals, and service messages you have enabled, and respond to your requests.
- Payments — activate and manage Harbor memberships through Apple.
- Safety & integrity — protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats, and enforce our Terms.
- Improve LovePort — understand reliability and fix problems using aggregated or de-identified information.
- Legal — comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to give you the Service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, and improve the Service, in a way that does not override your rights.
- Consent — for optional features such as push notifications; you can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where the law requires us to process or retain certain data.
7. Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run LovePort. They may process your information only to provide services to us. Our key providers currently include:
- Apple — sign-in, app distribution, push notifications, and subscription payments.
- Supabase — cloud database, storage, and authentication infrastructure for your shared voyage.
- Microsoft (Azure OpenAI Service), only for the optional AI features in section 3 (deeper coaching for Harbor members, and Deeper help, AI help finding the words, if you choose it). Your content is not used to train AI models.
- Vercel — hosting for this website.
This list may change as our providers evolve; the current set is representative of the categories of processors we use. You can ask us for details using the contact below.
8. International data transfers
LovePort is available to people around the world, and we and our providers may process your information in countries other than where you live, including India, the United States, and the European Union. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we take steps required by applicable law to protect it, such as relying on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, and applying appropriate safeguards.
9. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information from our active systems, except where we must keep limited information to comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or complete a routine backup cycle, after which it is deleted.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, end-to-end encryption for the content described in section 3, access controls, and least-privilege practices. No app, service, or method of transmission is perfectly secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your device and Apple account secure, since access to those can mean access to your data.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights over your personal information:
- Access a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your information (“right to erasure”).
- Portability — receive certain information in a portable format.
- Restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny you the Service or charge you differently for exercising your rights.
To exercise any of these, email mail@techrange.co or use the in-app deletion tools. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may authorize an agent to act for you where the law allows. If we ever deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
12. Deleting your data
You are always in control. Inside the app, Settings → Delete everything removes your voyage and its associated data from our servers and deletes your account. You can also leave a voyage without deleting your account. If you need help, contact us and we will assist.
13. Children
LovePort is intended only for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us information, please contact mail@techrange.co and we will take steps to delete it.
14. Regional disclosures
European Economic Area & United Kingdom
Our legal bases are described in section 5. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority. Our processing of end-to-end encrypted content is limited to transmitting and storing it in a form we cannot read.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months. California residents may exercise the rights to know, delete, correct, and limit, as described in section 11, without discrimination.
India (DPDP Act, 2023)
We process your personal data as a Data Fiduciary for the purposes described above and, where required, on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. You have rights to access, correction, and erasure of your data, to grievance redressal, and to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity. Because Indian law treats individuals under 18 as children requiring verifiable parental consent, LovePort is offered only to adults 18 and over. To raise a grievance, contact us using the details in section 16.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice (such as in-app or by email) where appropriate. Your continued use of LovePort after an update means you accept the revised policy.
